Acne Awareness Month: Exploring Pro-Approved Acne Care and The Latest Omnilux Clear Study Results
Acne remains one of today’s most prevalent skin concerns, with implications that extend far deeper than the skin. Beyond lasting scarring and discoloration, acne is a common catalyst for low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression, especially among people with severe cystic breakouts. This makes trusted acne care crucial, not just for patients’ skin health, but for their overall well-being.
At Omnilux, we’re committed to efficacious, compassionate blemish care through innovation and professional expertise. Our products provide a well-rounded defense against bacteria, redness, and swelling, with user-friendly products that help your clients stay consistent, even when life gets hectic. This June, to celebrate Acne Awareness Month, we’re thrilled to share impactful insights from Scientific Advisory Board member Dr. Glynis Ablon, MD, FAAD underline the benefits of our collection for blemish-prone skin, and reveal a sneak peek into our new Omnilux Clear clinical study.
Meet Dr. Ablon, Award-Winning Dermatologist and Scientific Advisory Board Member
As one of our renowned Scientific Advisory Board members, Dr. Glynis Ablon plays a crucial role in aligning Omnilux LED with the most up-to-date dermatological recommendations. As a board-certified dermatologist, Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA, founder of Ablon Skin Institute and Research Center in Manhattan Beach, and author of over 50 research papers, three books, and two book chapters, she’s an inimitable force in dermatology and skincare. Dr. Ablon recently facilitated Omnilux’s new clinical study of Omnilux Clear, our mask designed to target acne with FDA-cleared LED therapy, all from the comfort of home. Here’s her take on it:
“Acne is one of the most common, emotionally challenging, and multi-factorial skin conditions I treat, which is why I’m always looking for safe, effective solutions. In a clinical study I recently conducted on the Omnilux Clear LED device, 93% of participants experienced a decrease in inflammatory acne—an incredible result! Omnilux Clear empowers my patients with an at-home solution that truly delivers professional-level results. It’s become a trusted tool in my practice and a game-changer for acne care.”
Sneak Peek: The Latest Omnilux Clear Clinical Study Results
Evidence of Omnilux Clear’s ability to eradicate bacteria, reduce acne, and calm redness continues to grow. Dr. Ablon’s soon-to-be-published clinical study of Omnilux Clear revealed new findings and remarkable improvements that we couldn’t wait to share—especially with Acne Awareness Month underway.
In this study, 93% of Omnilux Clear users experienced a decrease in inflammatory acne, 83% would likely recommend the device to a friend, and 79% would likely choose it over a topical acne treatment. Now that’s what we’d call a resounding success! But let’s take an even closer look at the study participants’ personal wins:
One user experienced an 86% decrease in inflammatory acne lesions. And, while they had moderate redness at the start of the study, now they have none.
Another user experienced a 72% decrease in the bacteria in their pores.
A user experienced a 59% decrease in the bacteria in their pores and a 28% decrease in redness severity.
This study is in the process of being published, and the full study will be available soon. Watch this space!
Offering Trusted Care This Acne Awareness Month
Despite affecting up to 50 million Americans each year, acne can cause significant, deep-rooted distress. At its best, it’s a frustrating nuisance—at its worst, it can tear apart self-confidence and spur a pang of anxiety with every glance in the mirror.
That’s why Acne Awareness Month is critical: In our world of filtered social media perfection, education helps dissolve the acne stigma and shine a spotlight on effective care for blemish-prone skin.
We’re here to support and enhance your practice’s acne treatment options with our collection of products for blemish-prone skin. Our FDA-approved, science-backed LED therapy devices harness blue and red light wavelengths to shrink active acne, diminish redness, and eliminate bacteria in the pores. This, plus the convenience of our devices for at-home use and our complementary topical skincare, will help your clients achieve steadily clearer skin, in and out of your office.
-
Omnilux Clear is our OG LED light therapy mask for acne. This FDA-cleared device uses 415 nm blue and 633 nm red light wavelengths to target inflammation and bacteria. Blue light kills c. acnes bacteria on the skin’s surface while red light stimulates collagen production, curbs excess oil production, and reduces inflammation. Together, these benefits help clear breakouts faster while softening acne scarring, making it a one-two punch for blemish-prone skin.
-
The Blemish Eraser is part of our Omnilux Mini collection to target blemishes and redness. Along with the same red and blue light wavelengths used in our full-size mask, it uses hydrocolloid patches infused with salicylic acid and green tea antioxidants for a soothing, pore-clearing boost.

The Clear Rescue Line is our latest topical range, formulated with help from renowned skincare specialist Dr. Hany Abi Ghosn. It’s designed specifically for use before, during, and after LED therapy to round out your client's routine and enhance their results.
